George was perched on the edge of the sofa, his eyes trained intently on the television screen. Just as the commercial break finished, he turned and hushed his wife. It wasn’t really fair - Helen had actually been sitting very quietly, not saying anything.

1977

George looked at himself in the bathroom mirror. A close beard tinged with grey, sparkling eyes, a cute button nose. Gazing at his reflection, George felt that middle age was truly going to bring out the best in him.

Still, it was time.
His hair was curling upwards and outwards, every which way and loose. That morning, during the light saber demonstration, he had picked up on Mark’s slightly scared expression.
